Those Pesky Planets

Well its batten down the hatches at the moment on the planetary front.

We have four planets in retrograde at the moment and they are really turning the screws.

Mars entered retrograde on the 17th of April and is direct again on June 29th.

Mars is in Sagittarius which is a fire sign. This will have a direct effect on your drive, your ability to focus on a chosen target, the vices of Sagittarius will be magnified. So watch out for over optimism, and jumping into things that you would normally avoid.

You will also experience a lack of courage on occasion and where you would normally speak up against something you don’t like you are more likely to accept it and just feel bad about it.

Mar’s Friend Saturn is also in retrograde at the moment and stays that way until the 13th of August.

This planet is the one that defines our limitations but also it signifies our structures, the things that make us feel safe.

The result of the retrograde is that you might start to look at old familiar ways of doing things and set routines or structures as to controlling or constrictive. Things that used to make you feel safe will make you feel constrained. Relationships will feel controlling and you will want to break out onto new paths, but with Mars being retro as well might not have the courage to do so. This might well result in a feeling of frustration and illtemper.

Jupiter is retrograde until the 9th of May and is in its detriment of Virgo for extra added nastiness.

So Jupiter the planet of Joy is bogged down in the earthy sign of Virgo and is retrograde.

This means feelings of depression, growth stops abrubtly and you can find no joy in the things that in the past have given you joy.

Feelings of hopelessness and being stuck in a rut abide and you just feel that you are unhappy and goalless at the moment.

Last but not least by any means is Mercury. Mercury entered retrograde on April the 28th and will come out on May the 22nd

Mercury is in Taurus so expect a lot of earth based communication problems, feelings of jealousy, an inability to communicate from a solid basis. Knowledge will be questioned, and an inability to compromise will be seen.

So what can I do to avoid these things?

Well knowledge is power. You know what to expect so when it turns up its your job to say to yourself ok is this me or is it the astrological profile at the moment. Should I make the decision to pack in a job that has given me security and joy for the last 10 years for a new opportunity or should I wait and make a decision at a better time.

Should I dump my partner of 30 years for a younger version? Is the jealousy I feel justified or is it an illusion?

Well-armed you should be able to come through relatively unscathed but watch out all the same.

I will be making offerings to the planets regularly and watching my tongue very carefully.

Remember our job is to control the planets not to let them control us.

Magickal working

Well its the end of a funny old week, new starts with the new webpage going up live and the group have been working on a magickal working this week.

We are doing work to try to improve the feeling of hopelessness in the world at the moment.

We are trying to

A. Work on the general intellect of people and improve their ability to reason properly. Hopefully this will aid in drawing them away from things like the TV and the News media as this is fueling the downward descent in reasoning that we seem to be seeing at the moment. Intellect seems to be a very unfashionable characteristic at the moment. We value the culture of stupidity, sheople and celebrity.

B. We are working on the Love element so that we have a balance between an intellectual society and a loving one. Intellect without love is a cold calculating thing, a jobsworth society. We must therefor encourage both characteristics to get the culture we want.

We are doing this by using ritual.

Working on the Intellect

Please perform the Orphic Hymn to Hermes on a daily basis starting at the first Weds after the new moon.

Place the Magician Tarot card on a stand and place 8 candles around the card.

Light some inscence of your choice and then recite the orphic hymn to hermes.

Place the Talisman underneath the Tarot card.

Visualise rainbow couloured energy coming out of the tarot card and spreading to the ends of the earth. Ask Hermes for help in bringing people out of the sleep of dullness and to help them follow more intellectual work and to think in a more intellectual way, giving insights into how the world can be improved by better communication.

Thank hermes for his help and then douse your candles. Tea lights should be fine and should last for a bout a week if you douse them aver day.

Well this is all new and funky

I am sitting here today thinking about how much the pagan community has changed during my time within it.

When I started walking this path, a while back, I think there were dinosaurs, there was no internet, there was pagan dawn and the odd moot. (God bless neath moot in the Burrough arms)

Now if you throw a bun you can hit a pagan site. This in my opinion is fantastic. It means we are growing up, we are accepting ourselves and others are accepting us, even though this may be a grudging forced acceptance.

So this new page is a very new venture for me its scarey and exciting at the same time.

So please use this page as you see fit.

I am going to try to use this blog as an ongoing diary of all things dragony.

There will also be others posting on here as guests so hopefully we can get some different perspectives on here too.
